How Article Marketing Can Increase Your Website Traffic

Article marketing presents an amazing way for anyone who wants to succeed online to do self promotion. Article marketing helps you in several ways:

Create Your Online Presence

If you’re selling something online, you have to realise that your prospective customers are going to want to check you out first. When they look-up your name, you want them to quickly see that you’re someone who knows what they’re talking about. By submitting well-written articles to article sites, you can help people find information when they search for you. That information can be helpful and it can lead them back to your website and your sales page.

Get Backlinks

A valuable benefit of submitting articles to free article sites is that you can get backlinks. While your article typically can’t be overly promotional, there’s a resource box that allows you to write a byline and link back to your website. This is very good for your SEO.

Link back with anchor text and write a compelling byline and you could bring interested people back to your site. Another benefit here is that search engines will possibly index your website related to the anchor text you use.  Some article sites offer syndication as well so by listing your article there, others can also publish it, provided that they leave your links in tact and give you author credit. You’ve now just gotten more self-promotion and increased your online presence even more.

Pre-Sell Customers

The articles you write could help pre-sell potential customers so that they’re ready to buy by the time they get to your website through the resource link. Then your killer copywriting skills on the sales page are going to seal the deal for you.  A lot of successful internet marketing professionals use article marketing to drive sales and increase their online presence.

My three favourite article marketing site are: ezinearticles, Goarticles, and Articlesbase.  Learn how to use each one (it’s simple, really), take the time to write great content, and you could increase your sales as a result.

Why are they my top picks?

Ezinearticles.com – Toughest editorial guidelines but high page rank and very effective at getting traffic. They also offer some great tools such as a widget that lets you add your article feeds to blogs and Web 2.0 pages. They offer 2 self-serving links in the resource box.

GoArticles – Easy editorial guidelines, good page rank, and they offer 3 links in the resource box.

ArticlesBase – Up to 6 links (3 in the body and 3 in the resource box) and almost instantaneous approvals.

    I love e-zine articles but
the funny thing is… I have
a friend who tried to publish
    his biography there and they
    refused it for being too
    impersonal.

    Still, excellent place to post
articles if they let you through.

I’m a huge believer in the power
    of article marketing. It’s helped
    me to no end.

In fact, I don’t know how anybody
markets without it. It’s kinda hard
to market with even Twitter… if
you have no place to send people…
and articles are perfect for that.
