Depending on where you are in your internet marketing career, you could and should put your business on autopilot from time to time.  Here are some tips to help you do that:

Emails

Set up an autoresponse for your email to tell people you’re off for a few days. Then, they won’t be upset if it takes you time to respond. Depending on the nature of your business, you might want to include your mobile phone number for emergencies but don’t be tempted to take every call or let clients take advantage. It shouldn’t put you out of business to take a day off once in a while!

Article Marketing and Blogging

Do some things like article marketing and blogging heavily before the holidays and schedule everything to keep ticking while you’re away. Then, you’re going to keep visitors to your site satisfied by giving them new content as well as keep sending search engine spiders to your sites. You can also prepare autoresponders in advance to send messages through the holidays to your marketing list on a schedule.

Work a Little…Not a Lot

Check in once or twice a day just for a few minutes to put your mind at ease. Maybe you’re the sort who will worry about the business if you don’t know what’s going on. Be careful you don’t get trapped into working full time when you just intend to check emails and / or check stats quickly. You need time off and your family and friends will benefit from spending extra time with you.  After all, wasn’t flexibility and freedom one of the reasons for starting your own online business?
